MIKE JOO
Mike Joo is Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Global Markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. As COO, Mr. Joo is responsible for strategy and key cross-platform business initiatives globally.
Mr. Joo also oversees Business Controls and focuses on business and operational efficiencies across the global sales, trading and research businesses.
Mr. Joo joined the company in 2006 as Head of Asia Debt Capital Markets, based in Hong Kong.
Previously, he spent nearly ten years at Credit Suisse in Hong Kong and Korea as head of Asia Debt Capital Markets.
At Credit Suisse, he had additional responsibilities for investment banking and derivatives coverage. Mr. Joo began his career at Goldman Sachs in New York.
Mr. Joo was involved in numerous advisory and financing projects for the Korean government and received various distinctions for his contributions during the Asian financial crisis. He was also selected an "Asia 21 Fellow" responsible for various initiatives in conjunction with the Asia Society. Mr. Joo holds a bachelor of science from MIT.
